Arusha TZ

Arusha Region, Northern Tanzania

Arusha

Arusha is the safari capital of East Africa and the gateway to Tanzania's northern circuit, including the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Kilimanjaro, and Tarangire. Sitting at 1,400 metres on the slopes of Mount Meru, the city has a pleasant year-round climate and a lively mix of cultures, markets, and restaurants. The accessible Arusha National Park provides rewarding game walks and drives in the shadow of Mount Meru, with colobus monkeys, giraffes, and flamingos visible within 30 minutes of the city centre.

Tarangire National Park TZ

Manyara Region, Northern Tanzania

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is northern Tanzania's best-kept secret — a vast, ancient landscape of baobab-dotted hills, seasonal swamps, and the life-giving Tarangire River. During the dry season the river draws the largest concentration of elephants in East Africa alongside lions, leopards, wild dogs, and enormous herds of buffalo and zebra. The park's iconic ancient baobabs — some over a thousand years old — give it a unique, timeless atmosphere unlike any other park in the region.

Serengeti National Park TZ

Northern Tanzania

Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is Tanzania's most iconic wildlife destination, spanning 14,763 square kilometres of open savannah, woodland, and riverine forest. Home to the world's largest terrestrial mammal migration — over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle — it offers some of Africa's most dramatic wildlife spectacles. The park is also one of the best places on the continent to spot all of the Big Five, and its clear skies make for unforgettable stargazing.

Ngorongoro Crater TZ

Northern Tanzania

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its 260 square kilometre floor acts as a natural enclosure for an extraordinary concentration of wildlife — over 25,000 large animals including lions, elephants, black rhino, hippos, and flamingos. Surrounded by steep 600-metre crater walls, the landscape shifts dramatically from open grassland to acacia woodland and soda lake. Ngorongoro is one of Africa's most reliable places to see black rhinoceros, with a resident population of roughly 20 individuals.

Zanzibar TZ

Zanzibar, Indian Ocean, Tanzania

Zanzibar

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, famed for its powder-white beaches, turquoise Indian Ocean waters, and the labyrinthine lanes of UNESCO-listed Stone Town. The island blends Arab, Persian, Indian, and African influences in its architecture, cuisine, and culture. Beyond the beach, visitors can explore spice plantations, swim with whale sharks, and discover the rare red colobus monkeys of Jozani Forest. The perfect complement to a mainland Tanzania safari.
